Exhaust system for Ferrari 512 TR catalysed version (from 1989), in polished 1.4828 (T309) stainless steel, with 4 outlets of 70 mm. Without valves the gases flow freely through the silencer; the system is offered in three sound levels, identical on the outside: Sound 1, about 10 dB(A) louder than the original; Sound 2, about 18 dB(A) louder; Sound 3, the loudest and most requested, with the typical high-pitched Formula 1 sound and the ultimate sound experience. The version with valves is available in Sound 1 or Sound 3 and is managed by the programmable control unit.

The CES-3 control unit is freely programmable and controls the exhaust back pressure: you set the back pressure you want to drive with, and the back pressure that costs power is filtered out, so the engine delivers its maximum at both low and high revs. Most valved exhausts open according to speed or revs, whereas the engine is affected by back pressure, which increases with revs. The control unit has control LEDs and an RDS transmitter that sends values and functions to the car radio display; it is adjusted with the key fob remote controls, and the Capristo-Control-Center software (in German, Italian and English) lets you view all values and make all settings. There are three modes: Cruise (valves open later), Sport (valves open earlier) and Open (valves always open); in Cruise and Sport you set the opening threshold and you can choose the mode in which the car starts. The control unit recognises the driving style: if you accelerate aggressively it detects the back pressure building up and opens the valves immediately, while with moderate driving it opens them later. The CES-3 also measures GPS data and G-forces, some of which can already be read with the software, and from version 3.020 it can show the dealer's name on the radio display. The device is under continuous development and software updates are made available in the Capristo download area.

Capristo recommends not revving the engine with the car standing still: the flames from the exhaust can cause damage to nearby property and people.
