Exhaust system for the Porsche Cayman / Boxster with exhaust valves. Made of 1.4828 (T309) stainless steel. The system includes header, 200 cell catalysts, the muffler and the backpressure control unit. By using our Capristo headers the series catalytic converters are removed. Depending on the respective programming of the ECU it may happen under some circumstances that the check engine light is triggered.This system suits the facelift model of the Cayman and Boxster and obtains maximum power & low-end torque on the Cayman Dyno tested at 25 HP.
This system cannot be partially fitted to the OEM headers or OEM rear exhausts, and replaces both.
We expressly point out that this exhaust system comes without the approval of the German TÜV authority. For this reason it is not allowed to use this exhaust on public roads in Germany and also partly not allowed in some other countries. Please observe the legal requirements in the respective country.
The muffler is back pressure-controlled and freely programmable. This means that there is a control unit for monitoring the back pressure. This control unit provides the possibility to individually program the pack pressure one would like to drive in. This way, one can reach the maximum performance. The portion of back pressure resulting in a loss in performance is filtered out.
Therefore, this sports exhaust combines all advantages in both the lower and higher range of revolutions (rpm), since the back pressure can be exactly dosed to enable the engine to gain the maximum performance. The programmable control unit features an illuminated display showing all functions in plain text in 3 different languages (German, English ,Italian) and provides 3 basic modes to be operated via a remote control, namely
a) Cruise mode - the exhaust gas valves open later
b) Sports mode - the exhaust gas valves open earlier
c) Open mode - the exhaust gas valves remain open
In both the cruise mode and sport mode, one can individually program when the exhaust gas valves shall open. One big advantage is that the control unit recognizes the driver’s operation characteristics. If the driver accelerates aggressively, this is identified by our device by the kind of back pressure that is generated, and the exhaust gas valves open immediately. Usual acceleration results in a later opening of the exhaust gas valves.
