A sport exhaust replaces the stock silencer with a lighter component, often in stainless steel, titanium or carbon fibre, reducing the bike's weight and freeing up the engine's power delivery compared to the original system.

GPR is based in Cerro al Lambro, near Milan, and makes its titanium and stainless steel silencers and headers in-house; it races in MotoGP, Moto3 and the World Supersport Championship. IXIL, founded in Barcelona in 1955, designs stainless steel exhausts and silencers for motorcycles and maxi-scooters, in slip-on or bolt-on versions. MT-Race makes sport exhausts in titanium, carbon, anodised aluminium and stainless steel in Matera.
