Capristo Jaguar F Type V8 S
Complete exhaust system with valves and back pressure control for Jaguar F-Type V8 S (two-wheel drive only), in heat-resistant, hand-polished 1.4828 (T309) stainless steel. It includes two 100-cell sport catalysts, an X-pipe and mirror-polished tailpipes, and is almost 8 kg lighter than the original system. With the valves open the volume is extremely high. After fitting the sport catalysts, depending on the programming of the engine control unit, the engine warning light may come on. The supply includes the CES-3 programmable control unit.
The CES-3 has three modes, Cruise, Sport and Open, selectable with the key fob remote controls; you can choose the preferred mode in which the car starts and adjust the valve opening thresholds in Cruise and Sport. Back pressure and the active mode can be displayed on the car radio via RDS, and the dedicated Capristo Control Center software allows advanced configuration and reading of parameters such as G-forces, back pressure and thresholds. The control unit recognises the driving style: with aggressive acceleration it detects the back pressure building up and opens the valves immediately, while with moderate driving it opens them later. By precisely metering the back pressure at low and high revs, the engine can deliver its maximum power: most valved exhausts open according to revs or speed, whereas the engine is affected by back pressure, which increases with revs.
Capristo recommends not revving the engine with the car standing still: the flames from the exhaust can cause damage to nearby property and people.
