Girodisc is an American company founded in 2003 in California and based since 2007 in Bellingham, Washington, where it designs and builds two-piece floating brake rotors for sports cars, supercars and track cars. The iron castings for the friction rings are poured in the USA and every part is machined and inspected in the Girodisc factory.
The Girodisc story. The company was founded in 2003 in Costa Mesa, California, with a clear goal: to design two-piece brake rotors that perform flawlessly at the limit, in a field where the rotor was often the overlooked link of the braking system. The first product sold, in 2004, was a rotor for the Ferrari 360. In 2007 Girodisc moved to Bellingham, Washington; in 2010 it brought manufacturing in-house and since 2012 it has poured its own raw castings in the USA. In 2019 it opened its new facility of around 1,600 square metres, with a dedicated brake dynamometer and a 75 kW solar array, and it uses only raw materials from American suppliers.
Specialising in floating rotors allows Girodisc to get the most out of the factory brake system: its rotors are quiet on the street and ready for the track, and for many enthusiasts they are a simpler and cheaper alternative to a big brake kit.
