Unveiled in Shanghai in 2013, the third Ghibli took Maserati back into the executive saloon class, below the Quattroporte with which it shares much of its engineering. Its name, that of a desert wind, was first worn by a Giugiaro-designed coupé in the 1960s. The petrol versions use the Ferrari-assembled twin-turbo 3.0 V6 with an eight-speed ZF automatic and rear-wheel drive, with 410 PS in the Ghibli S.
For the Maserati Ghibli/Ghibli S (M157) 3.0 V6 (2013-2018), Armytrix offers the cat-back system with Valvetronic silencers and downpipes. Tips are available in chrome silver, blue coated, matte black and carbon. Versions without a catalyst are for track use only.
Armytrix systems are made in Taiwan in T304 stainless steel and titanium. At their heart is the valve in the silencer, opened and closed on command from the remote or the app, with a module that plugs into the car's OBD port. Armytrix exhausts are not road approved in the European Union or Switzerland: they are intended for track use.
