With the 997 facelift, the 997.2 series launched in 2008, the Carrera adopted new direct-injection engines with more power and lower consumption: the 3.6 rose to 345 PS and the S's 3.8 to 385 PS. It was also the first 911 with the seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox, which retired the Tiptronic.
For the Porsche 911 Carrera (997.2) Carrera/4/S/4S 3.6/3.8 PDK Coupé/Cabriolet/Targa (2009-2012), Armytrix offers the cat-back system with Valvetronic silencers and the headers. Tips are available in chrome silver and matte black. Versions without a catalyst are for track use only.
Armytrix builds its exhausts in Taiwan, in T304 stainless steel and titanium, and is one of the brands that made valved exhausts affordable: the valve sends the gases through the silencer or around it, and it is controlled with the supplied remote or a smartphone app through a module plugged into the OBD port. Armytrix exhausts are not road approved in the European Union or Switzerland: they are intended for track use.
