The GLE53 4MATIC+ brings the AMG 53 badge to the fourth generation of the SUV that began life as the M-Class, the W167, and to the sloping-roof C167 GLE Coupé. Its M256 3.0 straight-six combines a turbocharger, an electric auxiliary compressor and 48-volt EQ Boost for 435 hp and sharp response from low revs.
For the Mercedes-AMG GLE53 (W167/C167) SUV/Coupé (2020-), Armytrix offers the cat-back system with Valvetronic silencers and downpipes. Versions without a catalyst are for track use only.
Armytrix builds its exhausts in Taiwan, in T304 stainless steel and titanium, and is one of the brands that made valved exhausts affordable: the valve sends the gases through the silencer or around it, and it is controlled with the supplied remote or a smartphone app through a module plugged into the OBD port. Armytrix exhausts are not road approved in the European Union or Switzerland: they are intended for track use.
