With the 2018 C257 the CLS gave up its V8: at the top of the range sits the CLS53 4MATIC+, whose M256 3.0 straight-six pairs an electric compressor with 48-volt EQ Boost for 435 hp. The CLS450 4MATIC uses the same M256 with EQ Boost and 367 hp, in a four-door coupé built for fast touring rather than the track.
For the Mercedes-AMG CLS53/CLS450 (C257) (2018-2023), Armytrix offers the cat-back system with Valvetronic silencers and downpipes. Versions without a catalyst are for track use only.
Armytrix systems are made in Taiwan in T304 stainless steel and titanium. At their heart is the valve in the silencer, opened and closed on command from the remote or the app, with a module that plugs into the car's OBD port. Armytrix exhausts are not road approved in the European Union or Switzerland: they are intended for track use.
