Launched in 2014, the F36 Gran Coupé gives the 4 Series four doors and a tailgate while keeping the sleek profile of the coupé. In the early years the rear-wheel-drive 420i and 428i used the N20 2.0-litre turbo, with 184 and 245 PS; the N26 variant, SULEV-certified for the American market, shares its design with larger catalytic converters.
For the BMW 420i/428i (F36) N26 Gran Coupé RWD (2014-2015), Armytrix offers downpipes. Versions without a catalyst are for track use only.
Armytrix builds its exhausts in Taiwan, in T304 stainless steel and titanium, and is one of the brands that made valved exhausts affordable: the valve sends the gases through the silencer or around it, and it is controlled with the supplied remote or a smartphone app through a module plugged into the OBD port. Armytrix exhausts are not road approved in the European Union or Switzerland: they are intended for track use.
