The second-generation M4, the G82 coupé, arrived in 2020, followed a year later by the G83 convertible, which swapped the F83's folding hard top for a fabric roof. The mechanicals are those of the G80 M3: an S58 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six, with rear-wheel drive or, on the Competition, M xDrive.
For the BMW M4 / M4 Competition (G82/G83) Coupé/Cabriolet (2020-), Armytrix offers the cat-back system with Valvetronic silencers and downpipes. Tips are available in carbon, matte black, blue coated, chrome silver and gold. Versions without a catalyst are for track use only.
Armytrix builds its exhausts in Taiwan, in T304 stainless steel and titanium, and is one of the brands that made valved exhausts affordable: the valve sends the gases through the silencer or around it, and it is controlled with the supplied remote or a smartphone app through a module plugged into the OBD port. Armytrix exhausts are not road approved in the European Union or Switzerland: they are intended for track use.
