The third-generation X3, launched in 2017 and built in Spartanburg, South Africa and China, soon had to meet the stricter Euro 6 rules in Europe. As a result, the xDrive20i and xDrive30i with the B48 2.0-litre turbo gained a gasoline particulate filter (OPF), which changes the exhaust layout without dulling the four-cylinder's eager response.
For the BMW X3 (G01) xDrive20i/xDrive30i B48 OPF (2019-2024), Armytrix offers downpipes. Versions without a catalyst are for track use only.
Armytrix systems are made in Taiwan in T304 stainless steel and titanium. At their heart is the valve in the silencer, opened and closed on command from the remote or the app, with a module that plugs into the car's OBD port. Armytrix exhausts are not road approved in the European Union or Switzerland: they are intended for track use.
