The F90 is the first all-wheel-drive M5: the M xDrive system favours the rear axle and, with the stability control switched off, even allows pure rear-wheel drive. The S63 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 delivers 600 PS, 625 in the Competition and 635 in the 2021 CS, with an eight-speed automatic replacing the F10's dual-clutch.
For the BMW M5 (F90) Non-OPF (2017-2024), Armytrix offers the cat-back system with Valvetronic silencers and downpipes. Tips are available in chrome silver, blue coated, matte black, carbon and gold. Versions without a catalyst are for track use only.
Armytrix builds its exhausts in Taiwan, in T304 stainless steel and titanium, and is one of the brands that made valved exhausts affordable: the valve sends the gases through the silencer or around it, and it is controlled with the supplied remote or a smartphone app through a module plugged into the OBD port. Armytrix exhausts are not road approved in the European Union or Switzerland: they are intended for track use.
