The fourth-generation X5, the G05, made its debut at the end of 2018 and, like its predecessors, is built in Spartanburg. The 40i is the six-cylinder petrol version: a B58 3.0-litre turbo straight-six with an eight-speed automatic, its full-bodied delivery well suited to an SUV weighing more than two tonnes. For the BMW X5 (G05) 40i Non-OPF (2019-2023), Armytrix offers the cat-back system with Valvetronic silencers and downpipes. Versions without a catalyst are for track use only.
Armytrix builds its exhausts in Taiwan, in T304 stainless steel and titanium, and is one of the brands that made valved exhausts affordable: the valve sends the gases through the silencer or around it, and it is controlled with the supplied remote or a smartphone app through a module plugged into the OBD port.
