While the 2 Series Gran Coupé moved to front-wheel-drive underpinnings, the G42 2 Series Coupé stays true to a longitudinal engine and a rear-drive layout. Built since 2021 in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, in M240i form it uses the B58 3.0-litre turbo straight-six with xDrive or, in some markets, rear-wheel drive; this page covers cars with a particulate filter.
For the BMW M240i (G42) OPF Coupé (2021-), Armytrix offers the cat-back system with Valvetronic silencers and downpipes. Tips are available in chrome silver, blue coated, matte black, gold and carbon. Versions without a catalyst are for track use only.
Armytrix systems are made in Taiwan in T304 stainless steel and titanium. At their heart is the valve in the silencer, opened and closed on command from the remote or the app, with a module that plugs into the car's OBD port. Armytrix exhausts are not road approved in the European Union or Switzerland: they are intended for track use.
