The 540i is the six-cylinder petrol G30 and G31 5 Series: a B58 3.0-litre turbo straight-six, the eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive or xDrive. For those who want six cylinders without going up to the M550i's V8, it is the most balanced choice in the range; this page covers cars without a particulate filter.
For the BMW 540i (G30/G31) Non-OPF Sedan/Touring (2017-2024), Armytrix offers the cat-back system with Valvetronic silencers and downpipes. Tips are available in chrome silver, blue coated, matte black, carbon and gold. Versions without a catalyst are for track use only.
