At the heart of the F80 M3 is the S55, the 3.0-litre straight-six BMW M developed from the N55: two turbochargers, a closed-deck block and a lightweight crankshaft, with 550 Nm available from just 1,850 rpm and a 7,600 rpm limit. The first turbocharged M3 in history, it has a cooling system designed with track use in mind.
For the BMW M3 (F80) Single Tube Track Edition (2014-2019), Armytrix offers the cat-back system with Valvetronic silencers and downpipes. Tips are available in chrome silver, blue coated, matte black, gold and carbon. Versions without a catalyst are for track use only.
Armytrix systems are made in Taiwan in T304 stainless steel and titanium. At their heart is the valve in the silencer, opened and closed on command from the remote or the app, with a module that plugs into the car's OBD port. Armytrix exhausts are not road approved in the European Union or Switzerland: they are intended for track use.
